Expoglider
The strength of the Expoglider® lies in its simplicity.
The Expoglider
A solid cast “shuttle” slides along the cable together with the participant. This shuttle has a narrow opening that can glide past anchor points but cannot come off the cable. This is possible without any required action from the participant and without the safety system ever needing to be disconnected.
Continuously attached
The Expo cables are secured between Expo profiles throughout the entire course. These special profiles create a continuous loop and make it possible to bend at almost any angle. This highly flexible system can be mounted on wood, concrete, steel, or living trees. By interrupting the cable in each profile, the weight of a fall is absorbed by a single segment. This makes it possible for two people to stand on a bridge at the same time. The entire Expoglider® system is also user-friendly and complies with the EN 15567-1 standard. So, it is not only easy to use but also guarantees the safety of all participants.
History of the Expoglider®
With traditional fall protection, also known as the “cow-tail,” the participant is also secured to a cable tied above the activity. However, at every tree or post, participants must move and reattach their own protection, increasing the risk of falling. Therefore, with traditional fall protection, permanent visual and verbal contact with a supervisor is legally required. This means that for large courses, the required number of qualified supervisors increases quickly. The Expoglider® is secured at the start and removed at the finish using specific tools. In other words: participants cannot remove the Expoglider® during the course. This makes permanent supervision of every participant unnecessary. Therefore, the number of supervisors and monthly expenses are significantly reduced by using the Expoglider®. Additionally, the Expoglider® is very durable and sustainable. For example, it is specifically designed for frequent and intensive use, and the safety loop is designed so that worn segments can be replaced individually.
Continuously attached
The switching system provides endless possibilities. For example, participants can change courses, end a course early, or take a short break on a platform and let other participants pass. Just like the Expoglider®, the system is user-friendly, and participants cannot remove the safety themselves while switching courses. This way, every participant, whether low or high in the air, can safely determine their own route.
